Accessibility is designed to overcome certain barriers for those whose degree of disability means that cannot access certain information.

The Bizkaia Kosta Vasca association is aware of the importance of the accessibility and usability of its www.bizkaiacostavasca.com website and therefore uses the standard technologies laid down by W3C and complies with level AA WAI 1.0 Accessibility Directives.

The project needs its content to be visually attractive, meaning that certain items may be purely decorative.

Compliance with accessibility standards

All pages on the www.bizkaiacostavasca.com website comply with the level AA Accessibility Guidelines or General Accessible Design Principles laid down by the WAI Working Party belonging to W3C.

How do I find my way about?

The www.bizkaiacostavasca.com home page consists of 3 menus:

  1. Navigation Menu: at the top right, helps you navigate the whole website.
    • Language: changes the language used on the website: Basque, French, English, Spanish.
    • Site map: gives an overview of the website.
    • Contact: accessible form to contact the association.
    • Help: help with navigation, this is where you are at present.
  2. Left-hand vertical menu: This menu shows the general tourist attraction sections. (Beaches, Museums, Heritage, Where to eat, Where to sleep...)
  3. Right-hand vertical menu: Provides tourist information about the towns and villages belonging to the Bizkaia Costa Vasca association.

Organisation of the navigation

In order to make it easy to navigate using the keyboard, the page has been designed so that the TAB key follows a logical order through the contents of the web page.

Keyboard shortcuts:

Keyboard shortcuts have been used to make it easier to navigate around the web page. Use the following key combinations to use these shortcuts:

  • Mozilla, Netscape: ALT + Keyboard shortcut key
  • For Internet Explorer PC: ALT + Keyboard shortcut key + ENTER key
  • FireFox PC : ALT + CAPS + Keyboard shortcut key
  • For Opera PC : CAPS + ESC + Keyboard shortcut key
  • For MacOS FireFox and Safari: CAPS + ESC + Keyboard shortcut key

The shortcut keys used to navigate around the website are:

  • Key 1: Go to services menu (left)
  • Key 2: Go to contents
  • Key 3: Go to town/village menu (right)

Can I change the text size?

The website does not use an absolute font size, but has defined relative sizes that can be changed by users to suit their needs, using their browser options to select a larger or smaller font size.
