• Getxo. They are equipped with all kinds of ser­vices: Las Arenas (Las Arenas), Ereaga (Algorta), Arrigunaga (Algorta), Gorrondatxe-Aizkorri (Andra Mari), Barinatxe-La Salvaje (Andra Mari).
• Sopelana. Barinatxe or “La Salvaje” (“the Wild Beach”). A famous international nudist race takes place here every year, around the middle of July.
• Arriatera-Atxabiribil. This beach has the ISO 9001 and 14001 environmental quality certifications.Its strong waves are ideal for surfing and bodyboarding. It is also popular with young people who frequent the bars in the area.
• Meñakoz. It is an isolated, non-developed beach with a special charm. It is very popular with nudists.
• Gorliz and Plentzia. A wide and beautiful bay shared by the towns of Gorliz and Plentzia.
• Bakio. The beaches of Armintza and Bakio are separated by a stretch of wild coast­­line. Bakio beach is the longest in Biscay (1 km).
• Bermeo. Aritzatxu. This is a small, pretty little cove. Access is tricky.
• Mundaka. Its beaches are located on the estua­ry of the ria.
• Lekeitio. Isuntza (ISO 9000 and 14000), Ka­rras­­­pio and Salvaje beaches (the last two belong to Mendexa), next to San Nicolás island.
• Ondarroa. Arrigorri and Saturraran beaches (the latter is located between Ondarroa and Mutriku).
• Zierbena. Playa de La Arena. The large recreation areas, an excellent range of restaurants and a beautiful 966-metre stretch of beach make this spot ideal for visitors of all ages. It also has the Plataforma Hondartza Bizi service which caters for those with reduced mobility.

This sport has turned into a real passion. It has more and more followers, eager to expe­rience the adrenaline boost that only someone who has surfed can describe. There are many surfing schools for those willing to learn. And if you are an experienced surfer, Bizkaia Basque Coast has some of the best waves in Northern Spain: Sopelana, Bakio, Zierbena and above all Mundaka, whose left wave, the longest in the world, fascinates both surfers and spectators.
