Plentzia is an ideal spot for those seeking peace and quiet. It is a great place to enjoy nature, by either walking along the ria or visiting the nearby cliffs.
The green, clean ria spotted with vessels and the bay are the main natural attractions of Plentzia. Plentzia is also famous for its calm beach, ideal for bathing. The narrow streets of the town are also worth visiting.
The Old Quarter is another of Plentzia’s gems, for it has kept examples of popular marine architecture, along with historical buildings. Among the most important ones we must mention María Magdalena’s Church, the building that houses the Plasentia de Butrón Municipal Museum or the Torre Barri house; in the latter, a coat of arms of the Muxika-Butron family shows some of the oldest words in Euskera (Basque) carved in stone carved in stone, dating from 1603. Another highly valuable element is Santiago’s arch; it is the only part of the town’s medieval wall that has remained standing.
... one of the oldest epigraphs written in Basque is that on the coat of arms of the Torre Barri house, dating from 1603?
